Dear sirs,

Re: Malay-sian police abets 100 violent malay mob against Indians in Sepang. Why no UMNO, KDN,IGP, AG and Home Minister’s action? No police protection for the Indians.

At 12.30a.m. on 25/7/2010 we received a distress SOS call from one Velmurugan a/l Suppiah after he went to amicably settle a quarrel with his staff M/s Mahaletchumy and her mother (living alone) and their Malay neighbour in Sepang. Had he intended to cause trouble he would not have gone there with Mahaletchumy (28) and her 58 year old widowed mother Pushpavathy whose police report BBST No 2836/10 refers.

2At this neighbour’s house Velmurugan was hit on the head with an iron rod by a Malay youth. This is consistent with Pushpavathy’s aforesaid police report. Instead Velmurugan was arrested when he was at the Sepang police station while lodging a police report and never the Malay youth who had injured him. He was later taken to hospital by the police. Velmurugan’s police report No BBST 2838/10 refers.

Velmurugans’s said staff Mahaletchumy in her police report No BBST 2837/10 had also stated that the Malay neighbor had called her and her mother a prostitute (and had threatened to rape her until she dies and other vulgarities and threats of personal injuries). Even later at the Sepang police station and in the presence of many Malay-sian policemen, the malay neighbours had threatened to physically harm her.

At about 12.00 pm on 25/7/10 one Punitha (the wife of Selvakumar who was one of those detained) had made a police report BBST No 2843/10 also of police crime and inaction that:-

1) While she was at the first floor of the Salak Tinggi police station she (had bumped into Devan, one of the nine Indian youths detained) who told her that he (and the others) had been badly beaten up by the (Malay-sian) police at the Sepang police station and can no longer stand the pain and fears being further beaten up. Uk 1

2) That three cars parked outside their office and belonging to Velmurugan’s staff were damaged (by being violently smashed up using sticks, parang, iron rods and axe by a violent malay mob of about 100 people including some believed to be from the plain clothes policemen Pekida Malay gangster group in full view of the Malay-sian policemen.

3) (Devan was beaten up and badly injured by the said 100 Malay mob in full view of the Malay-sian policemen and was bleeding from his head and face.

4) Petrol was then poured on Devan (and threatened) to be burnt alive. This was again done in full view of the Malay-sian police.

5) Despite four (4) police reports lodged (all enclosed herewith) within about twelve hours or so not a single one from the Malay mob was arrested. But to the direct contrary nine Indians were swiftly arrested within the next one hour onwards.

Mr. P.Uthayakumar in his capacity as lawyer in this case had made an SOS call to the Malaysian Control Centre (MCC) at the Malay-sian Police Headquarters at Bukit Aman at about 10.15a.m and spoke to one ASP Fauzi and then to Inspector Zul Baidi of the Selangor State Central Command Centre (CCC) to stop the malay mob violence that was then taking place outside Velmuruga’s office and a mob outside Mahaletchumy’s house and to revert to him with the assurance of his client’s safety but both slammed down the phone.

Note:- 1 We have proposed to Police Royal Commission way back in 2004 that this desk at the MCC and CCC are to be headed by a Superintendent of Police to be effective but has been to no avail). 1

2) The only effective way forward that we are still campaigning for is the urgent implementation of the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) which was about the main recommendation of the said Police Royal Commission Report which was headed by the former Chief Justice of Malaysia Tan Sri Mohd Dzaiddin Abdullah.

When present at the IPD Sepang police station, ASP Zaihairul and Inspector Siti Sara had refused to allow Mr.P.Uthayakumar in his capacity as lawyer to see the badly injured Devan, Selvakumar and the rest who were badly beaten up by the Malay-sian police at the Sepang police station.

Please do not attempt to divert this issue by saying that we are trying to stir up a racial issue as per the UMNO and Malay-sian police previous records. This is the only country in the world where a cry against racism instead is accused of being racist by both UMNO and also P.R, NGOs etc.

This is not the first time this problem has cropped up. On almost every such occasion the Malay-sian police take a pro Malay racist slant in their enforment of law and order against especially the poor Malaysian Indians.

Uk 2We have not forgotten nor forgiven UMNO and the Malay-sian police for the Kg Medan “ethnic cleansing” on 8th March 2001 when five Indians were brutally murdered and the grevious bodily injuries inflicted on 100 over other Indians by a mysterious Malay mob from outside Kg Medan and where similarly no serious arrests or criminal prosecutions were was instituted against that malay mob including Pekida save and except for some token cosmetic media propoganda.

We wish to place on record that the above is done with impunity by both the Malay-sian police and the Malay mob as if they are above the law and immune from criminal prosecutions.

We call for the immediate release of the aforesaid remaining seven Malaysian Indians still detained. If need be, prosecute them in a Court of law if they have committed any offence. This is the due process of the law. Not their arbitrary detentions.

We call for the safety and security of the tiny ethnic minority Malaysian Indians in One Malay-sia.

We also call for prompt and serious criminal prosecutions to be taken against this malay mob and the policemen who had abetted them and the other police officers aforementioned so that the Malay-sian Police and such Malay mobs are not seen to be reigning supreme above the law.

We wish to record our protest against this racist lawlessness in Malay-sia.

We also call for the non racist implementation of law and order in One Malay-sia!

Malay-sia has to grow up and grow up fast on a fast track basis to rise above racism, religious extremism and supremacy. We cherish genuine racial harmony in the true Malaysian sense as opposed to the mere lip service media publicity blitz “kosong racial harmony” practiced by UMNO.

Kindly revert to us accordingly.

Thank You.

Your Faithfully,
